IANs due this week!

I will collect 6th and 7th on Wednesday and the rest (1st, 3rd, 4th, and 5th) on Thursday (although if you are in those classes and yours is ready, you can turn it in early).  You will have a few minutes to put it together and fill in the table of contents tomorrow (Wednesday).  I will be grading pp.100-114.   (That is a lot of pages, so find all the "stuff" that goes in there!)

Keep the focus and do your best on the reading test tomorrow...You got this! (Especially when you can find good textual evidence for the OER/short responses.  *wink*)

Last STAAR Academy is tomorrow!

Homework 3/20/12

Don't forget to do the practice STAAR reading/multiple choice tonight!  ("Hungry Bears...")  It is due at the beginning of class.  And don't forget about STAAR Academy this Saturday, 9-12:30!

STAAR Academy/Countdown to EOC/STAAR test...

The test is in less than 1 week!  We take the writing portion on Monday, 3/26/12, and the reading portion on Tuesday, 3/27/12.  The last opportunity for a little extra help will be this Saturday, 3/24/12.  Hope to see you there!

Reminder of your homework for tonight:  Finish the grammar practice packet (the second "Revising and Editing: Passage 2..." is what is left).  Also, complete the pathos/logos chart about "Carry Your Own Skis."  Remember, there will be homework each night this week, but it shouldn't take you long.  Please help yourself get ready for the EOC/STAAR next week!  =]

Thursday, 3/8, after school make up day for timed essay

If you were absent or went to the pep rally during 7th period on Friday, 3/2, you need to come to my classroom this Thursday, 3/8, to make it up.  We will begin at 4:15 and finish at 5.  Please be prompt and ready to work!  :D

Homework 3/1/12 (prep for a summative grade...)

Take 10-15 minutes and fill out the graphic organizer to plan your literary essay (write a story about the power of imagination, with or without the picture as a focus).  You will write the essay in class tomorrow.  This is practice in timed writing and will be due at the end of the period, so keep an eye on the time!
