Homework 9/8/11

Whoohoo...you get to read the most exciting part of the story, and finish it tonight!  Read through p.235 (most classes left off around 230-231, so not so bad).  Be ready to discuss the exciting conclusion tomorrow!!  And maybe I won't give homework this weekend!  ;)

Homework 9/7/11

Once again, you are reading for homework...make sure you read pp.224-228, blue dot to blue dot. (This blue dot is found at the end of a paragraph on each page).  Take notes on p.27 (or on a separate sheet if I have your notebook).  See you tomorrow!

Homework 9/6/11

Good afternoon, everyone!  Don't forget to read up to p. 224 tonight (and take notes!).  It is really important that you keep up so you know what is going on in class as we discuss!  =]

IANs due this week...

This week is the first week we turn in IANs! (1st/3rd due Tuesdays, 4th/5th due Wednesdays, 6th/7th due Thursdays).  Make sure you have your pages numbered, your table of contents numbered, pp. 1-7,9, 20-21 glued/taped in the reference section, and the your work done on pp. 22-25!   See you tomorrow!

Homework 9/2/11

Remember there are two parts to this weekend's homework.  The first is to write sentences with Vocab List B.  It goes on p.22-IAN.  If you need to, tape a page in. (And yes, there will be 3 things total on that same page...wow!)  The second is to read up to page 220 from wherever your class left off (the story starts on p.215).  Remember to take notes on character, conflict and plot "parts" on p. 25 in your IAN.  And hey, Baby Monkey says, "Have a great weekend!"  :D

Homework 9/1/11

Tonight, don't forget to use List A and write original sentences with each word...and if you want to get ahead you can start on List B as well (that will be Friday's homework!).  Remember to put them on page 22 in your interactive notebook.  Have a great night!

Nice to meet you!

I was happy to meet everyone at Open House (Back to School Night?)!  Keep an eye here...I will work to keep it updated.  Oh, and FYI, I'm handing out planners to my 9th graders today, so that is another way to keep track of homework, etc.  Have a great rest of the week, everyone!

Great first week! Don't forget...

We made it through the first week, WHOOHOO!  Just to recap...make sure your interactive notebooks are numbered (both the pages and the table of contents) and that you have glued in your rules and procedures and any pages I gave your class today if you haven't already. Also, don't forget to decorate the cover with people, places, things, books, movies, etc. you like and cover it with packing tape (due by Tuesday), and complete your letter for late credit if you didn't turn it in today.  Have a good weekend and get some rest, we have a lot to do next week!  (Oh, and don't forget to get tape, glue sticks, paper, a spiral, maybe a pair of scissors, and writing utensils if you haven't already!)

"Homework" and Supplies

Don't forget to get your rules/procedures signed and brought back in tomorrow for extra points on the first interactive notebook check!

If you are shopping for supplies, a small 3 ring notebook (or a section in a larger one), a spiral (the 70 page ones that are $.20ish right now), a glue stick, and a roll of tape are necessities.  I will provide the first spiral.  The one you bring in will be labeled with your name and saved for second semester.  Please get these as soon as possible!
